Firtina River

Firtina River (Storm River), one of the main rivers in Rize, is a wonder of nature which combines many rivers on the Black Sea slope of Kackar Mountains. The river is 2 km west to Ardesen, runs through the tea fields and suitable for the exciting river sports.

Rafting on Firtina River: Firtina River offers unique opportunities for the lovers of whitewater rafting and canoeing. The length of the rafting track is 23 km.

Spring and summer seasons are the best times to go for rafting.


Firtina Valley

Firtina is known as storm in English. Why this valley is called Firtina? Is there always a storm or does it run as a storm under the proud bridges?

Firtina Valley (Storm Valley) is 57 km long has always been a popular destination for both local and international tourists with its high flow and the bridges accompanying it all over its course. You can watch the canoeing and rafting races as you have your freshly brewed tea by the valley. The valley is among the 200 ecological zones that must be protected in the world.

In the valley, you can also see the graceful arched stone bridges built in early Ottoman times and the wooden hillside mansions built in the early 20th century by families.

Firtina Valley can be visited every season of the year because of its stunning beauties.
