Wild Orchids: Salep is produced from the ground root of beautiful and exotic wild orchids of the same name, mixed with milk and cinnamon. It takes 7 or 8 years for orchids to grow, that is why the salep is very valuable.

How to Serve: Turkish people like to drink salep with a sprinkle of cinnamon to feel very strong taste. Usually, it is consumed alone, but if the person wants to eat something, a pie or cake would be a good idea.
Winter Drink: Salep is very special, very typical Turkish drink and its season is limited. You can only find it in the winter months, officially between October and April.

It is also easily found in most patisseries as well as the ferries running between the three sides of Turkey. Blend salep and sugar in a separate bowl. Add this mixture to the boiling milk and stir for 20 minutes slowly. In order for the salep in it to melt and not to be lumpy, it must be mixed well. After 20 minutes, you can serve your salep with cinnamon.
