Istanbul is a world city which has many natural beauties. Nature parks, where history and nature are intertwined, just like secret oasis waiting to be discovered in Istanbul. 25 nature parks of the city are waiting for visitors and especially nature lovers.
According to information received from the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, 25 existing nature parks in Istanbul are classified as bicycle, picnic, nature walking, photography, festivals, fishing, wildlife observing and swimming.
The largest of the 25 nature parks is Polonezkoy Nature Park which has a great wealth of flora. In addition, animals such as red deer, roe deer, wild boar, jackal, fox, squirrel, pheasant, partridge, hawk, blackbird, night owl, magpie and sparrow live in this lovely nature park.
The second largest natural park in Istanbul, Samlar Nature Park is home to animals such as fox, rabbit, squirrel, falcon and magpie with its rich flora.
Nature parks, which have Istanbul's unique beauties attract attention with their wildlife.
Anatolian Side: 9 of the parks are located on the Anatolian side, their total area covers 3780 hectares.
Avcikoru Nature Park, Buyukada Nature Park, Degirmenburnu Nature Park, Dilburnu Nature Park, Elmasburnu Nature Park, Goztepe Nature Park, Hacet Deresi Nature Park, Mihrabat Nature Park, Polonezkoy Nature Park.
European Side: 16 nature parks on the European side is almost 916 hectares, most of them are located on the border of Sariyer district.
