Carian Trail is the longest coastal hiking trail of southwest Turkey containing history, culture and nature. The Carian Trail is an 800 km long distance walking path exploring southwest Turkey through the modern provinces of Mugla and Aydin.

Welcome to the Carian Trail where the Mediterranean and the Aegean meet. The Carian Trail is an 800 km hiking route in the southwest part of Turkey comprising modern provinces of Mugla and Aydin. The trail takes its name from the 3000 year-old ancient Carian civilization, signed and waymarked according to international standards for travelers to hike.

Every year thousands of people visit the Carian Trail which offers 800 kilometres of footpaths. If you need to make a tour, the local travel agencies organise your both independent and group trips.

Sections: Carian Trail consists of 5 main sections; Bozburun Peninsula, Datca Peninsula, Gulf of Gokova, Carian Hinterland and Mugla Environs. Starting from Aydin's Cine district and encompassing all the peninsulas in Mugla, the Carian Trail passes through Icmeler, Bozburun, Datca, Akyaka, Bozalan, Bodrum, Milas, Bafa Lake and Karpuzlu areas discovering the ancient cities of Loryma, Knidos, Idyma, Halikarnassos, Pedasa, Milas, Labranda, Herakleia Latmos, Alinda.

Highlights of the Carian Trail

The route passes 46 stages with 220 signposts and 33,000 waymarks. Travelers enjoy canoeing and biking in unspoilt nature, relaxing in the tents and watching the sunset.
