The river is renowned for whitewater rafting and its salmon trouts. Cedar, red pine and black pine trees form the ecosystem of the area, and the Mediterranean cypress forest, at 400 hectares wide, is the most significant flora characteristic around the Koprucay River.
The river has crystal clear water. You can swim in the clean waters of the Koprucay during the summer months. However, be prepared for a cold dip as the water temperature is below 15 °C.
