Saklikent National Park

Saklikent (Hidden City), which is a unique natural wonder to visit, is one of the most beautiful national parks in Turkey. It is located 50 km away from Fethiye district in Mugla province.

The steep rocks, plane trees, pine trees and crystal clear natural springs fascinate adventure travelers for canyoning, rafting, mountain climbing and trekking. There are endemic geophytes and cyclamens in Aklar Plateau. In the Saklikent National Park, the river flows so madly fast that it is impossible to move in the counter direction. Luckily, there are wooden platforms attached on the rocks. People walk on them in a single row to view the explosion point. After this very point, the depths of the mysterious canyon offer astonishingly changing natural formations. Sometimes it becomes quiet narrow that you cannot see the sky. Mud colour ponds at the bottom, several holes and elevated heights continue for 18 km.

Saklikent Canyon

Saklikent means hidden city in Turkish. Rumor has it that a shepherd loses his goat and he starts looking for the goat. At the end of his search, he finds not only his goat but also Saklikent that the goat seemed to have enjoyed its chilliness.

Saklıkent Canyon, which constitutes the resource value of the national park, must definitely be in your bucket list.

With its 300 m depth and 18 km length, Saklikent Canyon is one of the deepest canyons in the world. The full length of 18 km is only possible to discover with professional equipment and knowledge of advanced canyoning. Ice-cold water spurting from the rocks will make you feel cold even in the summer heat.
